• Agustín García Calvo’s “Analysis of Welfare Society” is, in the author’s own words, “a succinct indictment of the principal lies and fallacies by means of which this world [of welfare] sustains itself”. Rejecting the jargon of philosophers and other agents of institutionalized culture on the grounds that they are only “struggling for that which exists”, García Calvo reveals that the distinction between “developed” and “undeveloped” areas or countries is fallacious inasmuch as the welfare that people appear to enjoy within the limits of Development is based on their acceptance of “representatives”, “substitutes” or “ideas” of what life might have been before Development arrived. The highest and most sophisticated of these “ideas” becomes apparent in the institution of money, given that it is in virtue of money that “all objects and human actions get replaced by an idea of what they are”.

• Agustín García Calvos “Analyse der Wohlstandsgesellschaft” ist, in den Worten des Verfassers, “ein trockenes und schlichtes Denunzieren der hauptsächlichen Falschheiten, auf deren Grundlage diese Welt [des Wohlstands] ihr Dasein fristet”. Den Jargon der Philosophen und sonstigen Vertreter der institutionalisierten Kultur zurückweisend (da diese sich nämlich nur dem “Kampf um das, was existiert” widmen), enthüllt García Calvo, dass die Unterscheidung zwischen “entwickelten” und “unterentwickelten” Gebieten oder Ländern irreführend ist, insofern als der Wohlstand, den die Leute innerhalb der entwickelten Gebiete zu geniessen scheinen, auf dem Akzeptiertwerden gewisser “Repräsentanten”, “Substitute” oder “Ideen” von dem beruht, was das Leben vor dem Einsetzen der Entwicklung gewesen sein könnte. Die wichtigste und raffinierteste dieser “Ideen” manifestiert sich in der Institution des Geldes, da es nur vermittels des Geldes dazu kommt, dass “die Dinge und die Tätigkeiten durch eine Idee ihrer selbst ersetzt werden”.
